Job Description:

Our client is a complex small business serving an active and discerning clientele. They operate multiple entities, including those in the hospitality sector, and pride themselves on high-touch service and operational excellence. They are seeking a hands-on Controller / CFO to lead our finance function, interact closely with clients and operational teams, and build out the policies and procedures to support continued, sustainable growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee all accounting and finance functions across multiple entities, taking a hands-on role in day-to-day operations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and consolidated financial reporting for a complex business structure
  • Partner with leadership to support operational and strategic initiatives, providing timely financial analysis and insights
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable reporting, taxation, and regulatory requirements
  • Build and mentor a small finance team, fostering continuous improvement and service excellence
  • Report financial performance and KPIs to ownership and business stakeholders
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external accountants, auditors, banks, and other partners
  • Collaborate with client-facing and hospitality teams to ensure a seamless experience for both internal and external constituencies
  • Identify and implement process automation or system upgrades as business needs evolve

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • Significant hands-on experience as a Controller, CFO, or senior accounting manager in a multi-entity environment
  • Proficient in managing intercompany transactions and eliminating consolidation entries
  • Background in hospitality or client-focused industries is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to build accounting/finance processes from the ground up and implement best-in-class controls
  • Confident, proactive communicator able to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, clients, and operations teams
  • Skilled with modern accounting software and financial reporting tools
