Job Description

Our client, a rapidly growing logistics organization, is seeking a Controller to help support a growing company while strengthening the finance and accounting and developing a team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is looking for a role that offers both challenge and growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the full-cycle accounting process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
  • Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account analysis
  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities while ensuring deadlines are met
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash activity to support effective cash management
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency
  • Partner with operations and leadership to provide financial insights and support business decisions
  • Assist with clearing accounting backlogs while helping establish scalable processes to support the company's continued growth
  • Set up policies and procedures
  • Set up Benefits for the company

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience in the freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or distribution industry strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and ERP systems
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and excited to take on a challenging role within a growing organization
