Crusoe is seeking a seasoned Control Room Operator (CRO) to coordinate all on-shift operations at our power facility. This senior-level role is primarily responsible for the safe operation of all plant equipment across a variety of scenarios, ranging from cold plant startups to emergency operations during plant upsets. You will serve as an individual contributor within the Operations & Maintenance Department, making critical decisions on non-routine or escalated technical issues with limited supervision. The ideal candidate possesses excellent troubleshooting, diagnosis, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of using Distributive Control Systems (DCS) to monitor and adjust operating parameters. This role is vital for ensuring compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations while driving plant efficiency and safety.

  • Perform chemical analysis and control on steam, cooling, and condensate systems, while meticulously maintaining chemistry logs
  • Utilize RedTag PRO and other specialized software for the professional issuance of Lockout Tagouts to ensure personnel safety during maintenance
  • Resolve the most complex technical issues and independently prioritize responsibilities for specific functional areas
  • Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and provide strategic input to enhance plant efficiency, reliability, and safety
  • Provide advanced on-the-job skills training to others in complex technical areas and guide team members in task completion.

Requirements

  • Generally 10+ years of directly related experience in a power plant environment
  • Deep understanding of health and safety regulations, including working around hazardous energy, chemicals, and waste materials
  • Previous experience using test equipment, calibration appliances, and machinery repair/control systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics
  • Proven ability to make competent decisions regarding non-routine technical issues and emergency operations
  • Skilled in using PC computers, Microsoft Office products, and specialized plant control software
  • Ability to perform walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA
  • This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Nice to have
