If you said “Yes!” to all of the above then you’re in luck – our client is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to add to their innovative, customer-focused team of engineers.

Job Responsibility

  • Work closely with electrical and mechanical teams to provide technical expertise for our existing product lines and new development projects
  • Design 12 / 24VDC excavator & backhoe BTE control systems
  • Support the Ever Extruder Division projects as required with 3 phase 480 VAC designs
  • Develop HMI programming for use with PLC control systems
  • Own each project from schematic design to HMI development
  • Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and production personnel to debug machines, troubleshoot machine operations, and customer requirements
  • Understand the production process and how new products, design improvements and engineering changes impact the production process
  • Create and modify operator instructions and user manuals
  • Prepare proposals for control systems, including cost estimates
  • Manage multiple automation projects including scheduling, budgeting, and procurement
  • Be a point of contact and provide technical support as needed

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Able to lead projects autonomously
  • Proficient in PLC and HMI programming
  • Proficient in AutoCAD designing electrical schematics
  • Industrial network experience such as Ethernet/IP & CAN
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly adapt to new software and programs
  • Excellent team, communication, and organizational skills
  • Customer-centric approach to fulfilling all job responsibilities
  • Must have the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours as scheduled and maintain a punctual, reliable attendance record
  • Minimal overnight travel – approximately 5%

  • Experience with Codesys is a plus
  • 480 VAC design experience is a plus
  • J1939 messaging is a plus
