Job Description:

Control Center Engineer for 24/7 supervision and coordination of operations through Galp's monitoring system, working in the Renewables, New Businesses & Innovation business unit that develops sustainable portfolio of renewable energy including solar and wind with focus on Iberian Peninsula.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise and control in real-time the operation and performance of Galp's renewable assets
  • Perform real-time performance analysis and act on stoppages, curtailments and TSO/DSO orders
  • Coordinate works and operations and issue work orders
  • Guarantee optimum security conditions with collaboration of plant management and/or power plant on-site personnel
  • Guarantee continuous exchange of information with system operators, OEM remote control centers, production forecast providers and market operators
  • Collaborate with plant management teams in identification and communication of incidents and faults
  • Perform SCADA system connection/control tests with power plants and substation automated systems
  • Ensure availability of all required information and represent the Control Center when dealing with external entities
  • Apply occupational hazard, environmental and quality plans

Requirements:

  • Graduation in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences or another that fits the desired profile
  • Valued knowledge of photovoltaic and wind turbines, BESS namely mechanical/electrical operation and maintenance, alarms, SCADA, and additional OT equipment
  • Valued knowledge of standards related to regulatory, health, prevention of risks, environment, and quality
  • Valued knowledge of electrical distribution and transportation systems, particularly in markets where the CC operates
  • Valued knowledge of operation of control systems and HV equipment in substations
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English, both verbally and written

Nice to have:

  • Spanish language skills
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic and wind turbines, BESS

  • Knowledge of electrical distribution and transportation systems
  • Knowledge of operation of control systems and HV equipment in substations
