Reporting to the Head Operator/TS, the control operator is responsible for the operation of the control panel board, monitoring of production systems and activities and provision of DCS data on operations related incidents. Also monitors all tank farm related activities and collate all field data.
Job Responsibility:
Safely and efficiently operates process and utility systems from the YOKOGAWA distributed control system (DCS) located in the central control room
Responsible for reporting daily tank water draining logs
Carries out daily plans and coordinates with Head Operator, Field Operators, NN Planner, laboratory
Liaise with Jetty Personnel & Refinery Planners during import receiving and product loadings
Performs daily comparison of ENRAF ATG vs Manual dips and request for ATG calibration where difference exceeds 3 mm
Also maintains a log of the ATG vs manual dip comparison
Maintains & update the control room logbook & other production reports including turn-over
Reports to Head Operator or Terminal Supervisor any tanks that are not certified to ensure all product tanks are certified and ready for release or transfer
Complies with all safety and environmental procedures, permit to work system, job risk assessment, accident / incident / near miss reporting and the use of personal protective equipment
Operates as a team member, able to coach and mentor others, as necessary, on Control panel operations and safe work practices
Provides training and coaching to trainee Control operators
Monitors all DCS & associated equipment at the Control Room to ensure operability and reports to Head Operator/Terminal Supervisor any defects
Performs other task that may be required by the Head Operator or Terminal Supervisor

Requirements:
University Graduate in Engineering Discipline or Equivalent
At least 7 years minimum experience working as a control Panel Operator in an Oil and Gas refinery
Extensive experience on application and use of YOKOGAWA DCS
Maximum Professional Level of oral and written communication skills
Proficient computer knowledge and keyboard skills in a Microsoft Word/Excel for Windows and other Computer Skills as required
