Job Description:

A local county agency is looking for a skilled Contracts Specialist to work in their office in Gaithersburg, Maryland. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing procurement processes, drafting contracts, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in contract administration and procurement functions.

Job Responsibility:

Draft and prepare comprehensive contracts using word processing tools
Manage budgets related to contract expenditures, ensuring cost-effective solutions
Oversee the administration of purchase orders and ensure timely execution
Coordinate contract award letters and maintain accurate documentation
Collaborate with stakeholders to support buying processes and procurement activities
Negotiate contract terms to achieve favorable outcomes for the organization
Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and procedures
Monitor and evaluate vendor performance to ensure adherence to contract stipulations
Provide guidance and expertise on procurement functions to internal teams
Maintain accurate records and reporting for all procurement activities.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract administration
Strong knowledge of corporate procurement processes, including purchase orders and buying strategies
Proven expertise in drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts
Familiarity with procurement functions and contract administration
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to analyze budgets and ensure cost efficiency
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other relevant software tools.
