This intern role will be in the Contracts Division, which works to advise and assist project managers when procuring consultant or contractor services to implement their planning, research, construction, technology, and operations projects and services. The experience is substantive. If selected for an internship, you would be fully integrated into your team and given project responsibilities that are both learning opportunities and a chance for you to contribute to the overall success of the agency. Work will be performed at SANDAG offices located at 1011 Union Street, in downtown San Diego. This is not a remote role.
Job Responsibility:
Carry out filing, data entry, and recordkeeping tasks using online databases
Develop reports and contract closeout documentation
Work with SANDAG consultants to process their requests to add personnel or subconsultants
Assist with maintaining consultant rate schedules and records used for tracking use of small and disadvantaged businesses
Prepare drafts of procurement and contract documents
Ongoing team support on a variety of special projects, initiatives, and programs
Assist with preparing progress reports and communicating with project managers in the agency
Requirements:
Graduate or undergraduate level coursework in business, finance, public administration, engineering, planning, or a related field
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously
Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to perform a range of administrative support services and maintain accurate records
Ability to communicate with various audiences using exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Willingness to perform a variety of tasks typical of entry-level analyst position
Ability to complete assignments that involve researching, analyzing, and synthesizing information into written summaries, reports, or recommendations
