In this long-term contract role, you will serve as a key liaison for legal matters, effectively coordinating with external counsel and handling internal legal tasks as appropriate. This position requires a proactive approach to managing contracts, legal compliance, and operational licensing across various business functions.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate lease negotiations by collaborating with external real estate counsel and fractional general counsel
Support human resources and employment counsel with internal investigations and compliance-related requests
Manage and oversee the contract review process, including redlining minor agreements based on internal guidelines
Ensure timely renewal of restaurant licenses and permits, such as liquor and food permits, while working with external counsel for new location licensing
Act as the primary contact for litigation matters, working with external counsel to facilitate discovery, file legal documents, and provide updates to leadership
Maintain effective contract administration processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
Review event contract addendums and minor agreements in alignment with organizational standards
Collaborate with the leadership team to provide regular updates on legal and compliance matters
Work closely with external legal teams to ensure the organization’s adherence to all applicable laws and regulations
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management or a related legal field
Strong proficiency in commercial contracts, including drafting and negotiating agreements
Demonstrated ability to manage contract administration processes effectively
Skilled in redlining and reviewing contracts according to internal guidelines
Experience working with external legal counsel and internal teams to address compliance matters
Knowledge of licensing and permitting requirements for businesses, particularly in the restaurant industry
Familiarity with litigation processes, including discovery and legal document preparation
Exceptional communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
