Job Description:

A well-established biotechnology company based in San Francisco is seeking a Contracts Manager to support its legal and business teams. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a contracts professional with experience in the biotech or life sciences sector. The role focuses on managing, drafting, and negotiating a high volume of commercial and research-related agreements while partnering closely with internal stakeholders across scientific, operational, and business functions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements, including NDAs, vendor agreements, MSAs, SOWs, consulting agreements, and research collaboration contracts
  • Support contracts related to research and development, clinical activities, and commercial operations
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, from intake and review through execution and amendment
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, procurement, and business teams to ensure alignment with company objectives
  • Maintain contract records, templates, and compliance tracking
  • Identify and escalate legal or business risks as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • JD or paralegal background a plus
  • Prior contracts management experience within biotech, life sciences, or a related regulated industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of commercial and R&D-focused agreements
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable working on-site in San Francisco five days per week.
