We are looking for a highly experienced Contracts Director to provide expert guidance and support for federal government contracts. This contract position involves working 8 hours per week initially, transitioning to 8 hours per month for ongoing consulting. Based in Coeur D Alene, Idaho, this remote role requires a deep understanding of compliance, pricing, and cost accounting standards to support our organization’s rapid growth and contract management needs.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and advise on the management of federal government contracts, including firm fixed-price and time-and-materials agreements
Ensure compliance with federal regulatory frameworks, including DCAA and cost accounting standards
Provide expertise in the development and validation of indirect cost rates, pricing proposals, and financial frameworks
Assist in the preparation of billing, reporting, and invoicing in alignment with government requirements
Review and refine accounting systems to ensure adherence to pre-award survey standards, such as SF 1408
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize cost structures and improve pricing models
Guide the organization on compliance with DoD requirements and other relevant federal regulations
Support the organization in navigating audits and regulatory reviews, addressing identified challenges and outcomes
Offer strategic advice on contract submissions and legacy contract management
Provide insights to align project accounting systems with government expectations.
Requirements:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in contract administration, compliance, and federal government contracting
Extensive knowledge of DCAA standards, cost accounting principles, and indirect rate development
Proven expertise in federal contract management, including working with DoD and other government agencies
Strong skills in pricing analysis, proposal preparation, and cost optimization strategies
Familiarity with auditing processes and compliance frameworks specific to government contracts
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other tools for financial analysis and reporting
Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and provide actionable recommendations
Exceptional communication and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
