Job Description

We are looking for a Contracts Attorney to support a technology company serving the housing industry from Columbus, Ohio. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a licensed attorney with early-career experience who can contribute quickly across a broad range of legal matters in a collaborative, small-team environment. The position centers on commercial agreement work while also offering exposure to legal research, complaint response, litigation coordination, and core corporate matters.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare, review, and revise a high volume of commercial agreements, including customer service contracts and vendor-related documents
  • Conduct legal research and translate findings into practical guidance for business stakeholders and internal legal team members
  • Provide timely support on contract questions, issue spotting, and day-to-day legal matters that arise across the organization
  • Assist with responses to consumer complaints by evaluating issues, organizing facts, and helping develop appropriate legal communications
  • Support light litigation management activities such as tracking matters, coordinating with outside counsel, and maintaining case-related documentation
  • Contribute to basic corporate governance work, including document review, record organization, and assistance with routine legal formalities
  • Partner with a small legal department on a variety of assignments, demonstrating flexibility and readiness to step into priority matters as needed

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in good standing
  • At least 1 year of legal experience with the ability to provide meaningful support in a detail-oriented legal setting
  • Demonstrated background in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Experience working with customer-facing agreements, vendor contracts, or other business-to-business arrangements
  • Knowledge of contract law principles and the ability to identify legal risks within agreement terms
  • Familiarity with corporate governance concepts and willingness to assist with related administrative legal tasks
  • Strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments efficiently
