Job Description

The Contract Specialist will act as a key member of the Supply Chain (Procurement) team and will be responsible for drafting, reviewing and negotiating supplier contracts or subcontracts. This includes handling standard supplier contracts in the field of 3rd party personnel, equipment, MRO, etc., as well as managing subcontractor agreements. The Contract Specialist will ensure that contractual risks are identified, properly evaluated, and mitigated.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft, review and negotiate supplier contracts (including sub-contracts) in line with templates provided by Legal and Fugro policies
  • Act as a key member of the Supply Chain (Procurement) team, participate in commercial and legal discussions with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that contractual risks are identified, properly evaluated, and mitigated
  • Incorporate contract-flow down clauses from the client contract into the subcontract, in alignment with the Legal team
  • Ensure proper procurement contract management, comprising negotiating the terms and conditions of contracts
  • Promote the principles of good procurement and contract management practice throughout the company
  • Responsible for preparation/review of all relevant contractual correspondence exchanged during project execution to and from the suppliers, subcontractors, and authorities
  • Monitor all contract deliverables and the contract performance as well as identify risks and opportunities
  • Support handling of supplier claims
  • Assumes overall responsibility for all contractual and commercial issues related to the management of change
  • Works closely with internal stakeholders: Supply Chain (Procurement), Finance, Legal, Insurance, Fleet Services, project managers, operations managers and various business stakeholders

Requirements

  • Law degree preferred though Business degree with strong contract management experience will be acceptable
  • Experience in Maritime/ EPC/ Engineering companies is preferred
  • Project procurement experience (with EPC companies and/or offshore projects) is a plus
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience

  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes for software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, servers, networking equipment, and other hardware — from needs assessment and RFP/RFI to vendor selection and onboarding
