Position at Vaniam Group Contract Project Manager, Publications What You’ll Do Are you passionate about publication project management and scientific publications? This is a great opportunity to join our team of publication professionals as a Contract Project Manager. You will oversee a portfolio of publication projects throughout the various stages of development, and coordinate and track project plans. You will help coordinate client and author interactions, develop project timelines, maintain compliance with publication industry and company standards, and ensure timely and cost-effective achievement of project milestones.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as a project point of contact for client teams
Communicate client expectations to appropriate internal team members and with authors to drive reviews and approvals
Create and maintain project timelines, with input from internal team members and clients
Conduct regular project status meetings with internal core team, clients, extended teams, and external contractors to ensure effective communication of project timelines
Coordinate the publication review and approval process for client review teams and external authors, using publication management tools (eg, DataVision)
Track progress of publications against established timelines
Communicate directly with authors to drive reviews and approvals
Manage the submission of final publications (abstracts, manuscripts) to congresses and journals
Liaise with internal core team and other internal team members to ensure project resourcing and that needs and milestones are met
Create new project proposals/SOWs and budget estimates in collaboration with internal team members
Assess project issues and identify solutions to meet productivity, quality, and client goals
Other duties may be assigned to help drive deliverables within this role
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in a Health Science or related field
2 years of work experience in an agency, the pharmaceutical industry, or a related scientific communications position
Experience managing publications process flow in a healthcare communications agency or pharmaceutical environment
Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze information effectively, develop alternative solutions, and work well in group problem-solving solutions
Drive to ensure the highest standards of quality control of client materials and, as appropriate, develop best practice protocols for project teams
Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in a dynamic, virtual environment
Proficiency with the following computer programs and systems: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, Zoom (or other similar systems), cloud-based file servers, calendars, messaging systems, and work management tools (eg, WorkFront) preferred
Experience with publication management software (DataVision, PubStrat, PM Solutions, etc)
Strong customer service focus with an ability to drive client requests while maintaining scope of work
desire to look for the above and beyond solutions
Availability to travel within the US and internationally as necessary, based on project, sponsor, and organizational needs (10% travel expected)
Nice to have:
Experience in oncology and/or hematology preferred
Certification as a Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) is desirable
