The Contract Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading and managing Teradyne’s contract manufacturing operations across multiple sites and sources. This role ensures standardized KPI metrics, drives operational excellence, and achieves company goals for On-Time Delivery (OTD), quality, and cost efficiency. The manager will foster strong partnerships with contract manufacturers, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain alignment with Teradyne’s strategic objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee contract manufacturing operations base in major contract manufacturing partner site
Ensure alignment with Teradyne’s standards for capacity, OTD, quality, and cost
Define, implement, and monitor standardized KPI metrics in contract manufacturers
Drive accountability for meeting performance targets and escalate issues proactively
Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality
Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to optimize processes and workflows
Equipment ownership with proper maintenance & qualification program
Resolve technical issues, material shortages, and production obstacles promptly
Communicate and escalate critical challenges to stakeholders effectively
Coordinate efforts between Teradyne teams (Marketing, NPI, Planning, Engineering, Supply chain, Logistics) and contract manufacturer
Support product transitions, customer requests, and schedule adherence
Train, coach, and motivate contract manufacturer teams to achieve operational excellence
Develop recognition programs, celebrations, for high-performing partners and events with objectives
Ensure adherence to Teradyne’s QMS and regulatory requirements
Support routine audits of processes, equipment, and documentation
Manage feasible production schedules and establish capacity planning
Collaborate with supply chain to ensure material availability, manager excess & obsolescence
Promote a safe working environment and compliance with safety standards
Support facility and production line optimization to reduce space and waste
Partner with engineering and marketing on new product introductions and transitions
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in contract manufacturing or operations management
Strong knowledge of KPI development, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and quality systems
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and motivate external partners
Skilled in aligning operational goals with business objectives
Proficient in data-driven decision-making and KPI analysis
Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships
Ability to manage multiple sites and suppliers in a fast-paced environment
