Job Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of a leader in delivering water treatment projects across Malaysia. We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversees and leads the daily operations of the Contracts Departments, ensuring efficient and compliant processes and also coordinating project cost estimates related to site works, while monitoring project status and expenses.

Job Responsibility:

  • Recommended and ensure commercial comparisons and subcontract awards are within allocated budgets
  • Reviewing and verifying subcontractor payment recommendations prepared by the project Quantity Surveyor
  • Ensuring timely submission of monthly claims to clients or main contractors
  • Advising the Project Manager on contractual issues, including drafting appropriate responses
  • Managing the profitability of projects undertaken by the department
  • Overseeing the selection and evaluation of subcontractors, emphasising quality and environmental standards
  • Ensuring all conduct and work comply with ISO standards, company policies, regulations, and procedures
  • Managing contractual matters related to pre-contract and post-contract stages with subcontractors
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for site works in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and finalise payment claims from sub-contractors and clients, ensuring all processes are completed promptly
  • Monitor project progress and expenses, including material costing, measurements, and wastage control
  • Support project proposals, feasibility studies, tender budgeting, and sub-contractor pre-qualification processes

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Prefer candidates with water treatment plant experience
  • Able to work independently in office, on site, and visit clients for meeting
