We are looking for a Contract HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations for our team in Irvine, California. This role will manage core HR processes across payroll, benefits, employee records, compliance, and recruiting while helping create a positive and organized employee experience. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to a wide range of HR needs in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility
Administer payroll and benefits activities for approximately 40 employees, including bonus processing, leave tracking, and absence management through HR systems
Maintain accurate digital and paper-based personnel files and ensure employee documentation is current, organized, and accessible
Prepare HR-related reports and process documentation tied to performance reviews and other employee lifecycle activities
Coordinate employee feedback initiatives, evaluate survey results, and recommend practical improvements to strengthen engagement and workplace experience
Serve as a resource for employees by addressing HR questions, resolving workplace concerns, and guiding issue resolution in a timely manner
Partner with external agencies or public offices as needed to support employment-related matters and required communications
Promote adherence to workplace policies, safety expectations, and company procedures through consistent communication and follow-up
Monitor HR and labor law requirements at the federal and state levels, support investigations, and help maintain ongoing compliance
Support hiring efforts by screening candidates, maintaining applicant records, assisting with recruitment coordination, and facilitating onboarding and orientation for new hires
Review job information, analyze exit feedback, and recommend updates to job descriptions and employee relations practices to support HR objectives
Requirements
Experience in human resources administration with broad exposure to payroll, benefits, employee records, and employee relations
Working knowledge of HRIS platforms, including experience with Paylocity or a similar system
Ability to support onboarding, recruitment coordination, and resume screening with strong organizational skills
Understanding of federal and state employment regulations and the ability to apply compliance requirements in daily HR operations
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond professionally to employee questions and concerns
Experience handling confidential information with discretion and maintaining accurate documentation and reports
Comfortable analyzing employee feedback, performance-related information, and exit interview data to identify actionable improvements
