Keyano College’s University Studies Department is currently seeking a Contract Course Developer to develop two biology courses; BIO 235 Anatomy & Physiology I & BIO 236 Anatomy & Physiology II.
Job Responsibility:
Map course content and learning outcomes to Keyano College curriculum development requirements and to established university-transfer standards for first year Anatomy & Physiology, ensuring alignment with disciplinary expectations and provincial articulation requirements.
Develop core course documentation, including the course description, measurable learning outcomes, course outline, and detailed syllabi. Provide a comprehensive blueprint of course structure, modules, topics, instructional strategies, lab components, and assessment timelines.
Design and curate high quality learning materials for each module—including lecture presentations, readings, diagrams, multimedia content, and interactive learning resources—that accurately reflect human anatomy and physiology at an undergraduate level.
Create detailed lesson plans that include content delivery methods, student learning activities, engagement strategies, opportunities for formative assessment, and summaries or reflections on key anatomical and physiological principles.
Develop comprehensive instructor guides containing teaching notes, content clarifications, suggested pacing, lab facilitation instructions, supplemental resources, and best practices for effectively teaching foundational A&P to diverse learners.
Design the complete assessment framework, including an assessment matrix aligned to learning outcomes, sample assessments, rubrics, quizzes, tests, laboratory assignments, case studies, and summative evaluations that reflect appropriate academic rigor.
Develop laboratory components, including lab manuals, protocols, virtual or physical lab activities, safety guidance, and assessment tools consistent with postsecondary A&P laboratory expectations.
Upload, structure, and organize all course materials within the Moodle LMS course shell, ensuring clear navigation, accessibility compliance, and alignment with Keyano College online learning standards.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and internal committee members to refine curriculum, integrate best practices, and ensure academic quality.
Maintain regular communication with the Chair and Associate Dean, attend curriculum development meetings, and provide progress updates throughout the development process.
Engage with community and provincial stakeholders, where appropriate, to ensure course relevance and alignment with transfer partner expectations.
Requirements:
Minimum: Master’s degree in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Human Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences, or a closely related field.
Preferred: PhD in a relevant discipline (especially if the courses are intended to articulate with major universities).
Strong foundational knowledge across: Human anatomy (systemic and regional)
Human physiology (cellular to systemic)
Homeostasis and regulatory mechanisms
Basic pathology concepts
Demonstrated experience teaching first-year undergraduate A&P or related courses.
