We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Contract Bookkeeper to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank accounts, and assisting with month-end reporting. The ideal candidate has strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with accounting software.
Job Responsibility
Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts
Record daily financial transactions and ensure proper documentation
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
Prepare financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets
Monitor cash flow and track expenses
Support payroll processing and related recordkeeping, if needed
Resolve discrepancies and investigate unusual transactions
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
Requirements
2+ years of bookkeeping or general accounting experience
Strong understanding of debits, credits, and account reconciliations
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
Nice to have
Experience in small to mid-sized business environments
Familiarity with month-end close and financial reporting
Payroll support experience is a plus
Ability to work independently in a contract or interim role
