We are seeking an experienced contract attorney to support our legal team in reviewing and negotiating SaaS agreements with our customers. This is a highly autonomous, customer-facing role designed for a legal professional with a strong background in sales contracting for technology solutions and a pragmatic, business-minded approach.
Job Responsibility:
Independently review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts with customers, including SaaS agreements, services agreements, DPAs, AI-related and security terms
Attend and lead customer-facing negotiation calls, often negotiating agreements live as part of the sales process
Respond promptly to customer requests regarding compliance and product-related inquiries during the sales cycle
Provide practical, commercially minded legal counsel that balances risk with business needs, working closely with the Sales organization
Learn and understand the company’s products (especially AI-driven solutions) to advise on legal, compliance, and product matters
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, Security, and Compliance) to ensure contracts address all relevant business risks and requirements
Support HR technology-related sales contracting as appropriate
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership required
Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in commercial contract negotiation, with a strong focus on SaaS and technology transactions
Demonstrated experience negotiating complex agreements with external customers, including direct participation in live negotiation calls
Sound knowledge of data privacy, security addenda, AI-related terms, and technology product contracting
Prior experience working closely with tech sales teams
understanding the expectations for speed, responsiveness, and practical legal advice
Able to quickly learn and understand new product offerings and technical features, with particular emphasis on AI technologies
Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to clearly articulate legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
Highly responsive and able to manage multiple, competing priorities on tight timelines
Previous experience with HR technology or a willingness to quickly learn sector-specific requirements (strongly preferred)
Commitment to the assignment period: April through end of October (7-month duration). Flexible, part-time hours (approx. 20 hours/week), with the expectation of full-time engagement during the last month of each fiscal quarter (July and October)
