Job Description:

Growing law firm in San Jose is seeking a remote Contract Attorney to join their litigation practice. In this remote role as a Contract Attorney, you will play a critical part in supporting various phases of the litigation lifecycle including case analysis, formulating litigation strategies, managing discovery, drafting legal documents, and trial preparation. This is the perfect opportunity for an attorney who is seeking flexible remote work on a contract basis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in all phases of insurance defense litigation, including case evaluation, research, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses
  • Collaborate closely with firm partners to develop strategies and deliver optimal outcomes
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing timely updates and legal counsel throughout each stage of the case

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active California State Bar membership (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in California-based civil litigation
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and written/oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms and litigation software
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload independently and collaborate as part of a team
