Job Description

A San Francisco-based litigation boutique has an immediate opening for a Contract Associate Attorney to support two senior partners on complex civil, commercial, or regulatory litigation matters. This engagement is expected to run three to six months, with the possibility of extension based on workload and performance.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft substantive motions, including dispositive motions and oppositions to summary judgment, for partner review and filing
  • Manage written discovery and assist with deposition preparation
  • Conduct legal research and support briefing strategy in state and federal court matters
  • Assist with expedited proceedings and injunctive relief matters where applicable
  • Support preparation for hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel at the direction of supervising attorneys
  • Collaborate closely with senior partners on litigation planning and case development

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of California litigation experience
  • Active California Bar admission, in good standing
  • Strong motion practice and discovery experience
  • Experience with commercial disputes, business litigation, or regulatory matters is preferred
  • Experience with expedited proceedings or injunctive relief is a plus
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously
  • High level of professionalism and sound professional judgment
