The company is looking for a Contracts expert with experience in construction/project contracts. The role will work closely with our bid, sales and project departments, reviewing and negotiating contracts prior to award and monitoring and supporting our project contracts during execution. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in communication, contract negotiation and construction contract law and will be able to provide ongoing contractual risk mitigation advice to our project teams and senior management.
Job Responsibility:
Review and negotiate contracts at Bid/tender stage
Establish contract terms and conditions with head contractors in line with company guidelines
Assist in preparation of subcontract packages
Complete contract review and provide advice to the business and Project Managers
Contract support for project managers during project setup and execution
Establish and maintain set of template contract notices (e.g. Notice of Variations, EOT’s, delays etc.) to support project delivery
Prepare and manage various contract notices during project delivery
Monitor existing contracts and provide advice on contract compliance and legal obligations
Liaise with internal and external legal practitioners, as required
Monitor ongoing contracts and advise Senior Management on contractual risks
Attend key meetings (either locally or interstate) to assist with contract discussions
Requirements:
Qualifications related to delivering this role
Bachelors degree in Law or demonstrated industry experience
Experience in similar role (within project delivery or construction space)
Demonstrated ability to administer contracts
Strong knowledge in contract law relating to construction contracts
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to communicate with various departments and external organisations (clients, suppliers, legal practitioners)
