Our client, a Canadian-owned consulting firm specializing in civil engineering services for municipalities and public agencies is looking for a Contract Administrator (P.Eng required) to join their team. Their firm has a diverse team of professionals, including Engineers, Project Managers, Technologists, and Contract Administrators, who handle everything from municipal infrastructure design to construction inspection. As a Contract Administrator, you will be crucial to the successful execution of construction projects. This involves supervising Construction Inspectors, ensuring work is completed according to contract obligations and quality standards. You will be the main point of contact between their firm, the clients, and the contractors. Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise Construction Inspectors and provide guidance to ensure projects meet quality standards
  • Review and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and special provisions
  • Inspect construction operations to ensure compliance with contract documents, quality, and safety standards
  • Verify quantities, prepare progress reports, and maintain meticulous project documentation
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues, and negotiate any extra work required
  • Prepare reports, quantity measurements, claims, and payment certifications
  • Communicate effectively with contractors and clients

Requirements:

  • Registered as an EIT, or P. Eng. with PEO or rcca with OACETT is required
  • Demonstrated experience as a Contract Administrator, Resident Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or an assistant in these roles on at least two prior projects
  • A minimum of five years of experience in watermain, sanitary, storm, and/or grade construction on road projects
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Nice to have:

Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is considered an asset
