Job Description

The OSP Administrator II is expected to work at either the technical or non-technical competency level indicated for the respective area of clinical trial contracts, including but not limited to confidential disclosure agreements, clinical trial agreements, collaboration agreements and data use/data sharing agreements.

Job Responsibility

  • Supports faculty members and department administrators in the various stages of industry clinical trial contract life cycle
  • Reviews financial information to ensure budgets and terms agree with grant or contract documentation and compliance with institution and granting agency requirements
  • Reviews financial information to ensure compliance with institution and granting agency legal requirements
  • Develops understanding of appropriateness of consultation with institutional management and/or Legal Department related to contract language, financial, and post-execution monitoring of agreements
  • Provides support and guidance to stakeholders for contracts entered into by the institution
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding to fulfill reporting requirements of contracts awarded
  • Represents and promotes the institution’s research activities at meetings
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with stakeholders and provides needed support during the contracts life cycle
  • Assists and supports the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures relating to the administration of contracts
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience with one year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
  • Pre-award, post-award or contracting skills preferred
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Highly organized with a focus on teamwork, creating usable and accessible administrative tools
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently and independently
  • Ability to learn changing technologies related to contracts management
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications
  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, regulations, and policies
  • Ability to learn and improve negotiation skills, composition and analysis of business contract terms and language
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to work effectively with a large and diverse constituency including senior leadership, faculty, support staff, external parties, and vendors
