The Continuous Improvement Specialist at Unilever United States, Inc. will drive operational excellence and efficiency across various business functions by identifying, analyzing, and implementing improvements in processes, systems, and practices. This role focuses on optimizing performance, reducing waste, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects utilizing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and other relevant tools
Conduct process mapping, value stream analysis, and root cause analysis to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project progress, measure impact, and ensure sustained improvements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, supply chain, quality, and R&D, to gather data, understand challenges, and gain buy-in for improvement initiatives
Train and mentor employees at all levels on continuous improvement principles, tools, and techniques
Prepare detailed project plans, status reports, and presentations for stakeholders, outlining objectives, progress, and results
Promote a culture of innovation and problem-solving, encouraging employees to identify and propose improvement opportunities
Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging continuous improvement methodologies to continually enhance Unilever's operational capabilities
Document processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer
Support the implementation of new technologies and systems that enhance efficiency and productivity
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a continuous improvement, process improvement, or operational excellence role within a manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment
Proven experience applying Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt certification preferred, Black Belt a plus), or other continuous improvement methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable insights
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) and experience with data analysis tools
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience with change management principles and techniques
Prior experience in a global organization is a plus
