Job Description:

Leading the implementation and development of the system for continuous improvement across the plant by partnering with management and other relevant stakeholders. Goal of the new production system is to produce and deliver fully sustainable cans to our customers with highest quality, lowest cost and shortest lead-time, while ensuring a safe, pleasant and inclusive workplace for our employees.

Job Responsibility:

  • Implement and develop AMPS (Ardagh Metal Production System) model
  • Identify major opportunities for plant to improve level of operational focus
  • Promote CI culture through the introduction of data/fact based decisions, systems thinking, employee empowerment, teams, and various statistical tools
  • Be responsible for sharing of CI best practices and knowledge
  • Lead efforts to gain control and improve capability of processes and products
  • Communicate with Functional colleagues on CI-related questions
  • Train local employees, e.g. Yellow/Green Belt
  • Communicate CI through the plant organization, management of visual communication
  • Manage the CI project portfolio of the location. Reporting of progress development against Objectives, KPI’s, planning etc.
  • Serve as a project manager, depending upon project selection. Assist with project execution, provide functional input and identify functional resources
  • Attend all assigned (steering committee) meetings and acts as focal point for all involved in project teams
  • Responsible for integrating project, and process improvement achievements into daily activities of the plant
  • Contribute to an effective IMS by inputting data on training, writing and evaluating SOPs
  • Perform data analyses as part of an integrated program of process control and designed experimentation
  • Develop, implement and maintain an effective SPC system using Infinity, Apriso and others, including training

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably can-making
  • Excellent knowledge of Continuous Improvement concepts (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, TPM) and tools (e.g. VSM, RCA, Statistical Analysis)
  • Experienced Black Belt or desire to get certified
  • Possesses excellent communication skills with that ability to build consensus and sell ideas at all levels of the organization
  • Is familiar with statistics, determines the quality of data, is comfortable comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions and establishes effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions
  • Generates innovative solutions in work situations and tries novel ways to deal with work problems and opportunities
  • Possesses strong project management skills—planning, organizing, setting and meeting goals, both short and long-term, sustaining customer focus, and maintaining schedules
