Job Description

For our client – worldwide leader in innovative IT and networking technologies – we are currently looking for a Consulting Engineer.

Job Responsibility

  • Drives technology design, implementation, execution and/or optimization for customer projects/accounts
  • Works with customers to plan, design, configure and/or diagnose the company’s suite of products, services and solutions to accelerate customer outcomes
  • Assists customers with integration and implementation of tools, systems and service assurance
  • Supports presale activities and translate business requirements into solution design
  • Builds customer simulations in test labs to resolve/validate complex problems and compatibility issues
  • Creates and delivers customer collateral, portals, documentation and knowledge transfer
  • Aligns technical deliverables to customer business outcomes
  • Drives customer technology transitions, influencing solution architectures and services
  • Complies with and supports company policies and processes and utilizes relevant tools to effectively execute the role and support Professional Services’ strategies and goals
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and building business long-term relationship with customers across European region
  • Participate in Data Center and Cloud infrastructure projects (network)
  • Solve issues (might include network, ACI, VXLAN, NMS, automations)
  • Test solutions in the Internal Labs
  • Provide technical support for customers during software and hardware upgrades
  • Participate in regular status meetings and ad-hoc interactions with customers
  • Manage your deliverables and responsibilities while maintaining high customers’ sentiment
  • Support Project Managers (PM) in project tracking and in resolution of project issues
  • Collaborates with other Consulting Engineers in appropriate technology domains to ensure optimal use of resources to meet customer needs
  • Typically interacts with individual contributors, managers, and customers
  • Works on moderately complex and easy problems and considers relative value of several alternative solutions to potential issues before confirming a final decision as to the path forward

Requirements

  • Experience in designing, deploying & supporting Networking and Data Center solutions (ideally from Cisco)
  • Good Understanding of networking protocols and technologies (Cisco ACI, VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, STP, VLANs, VPC, QoS, etc.)
  • Good understanding of Data Center concepts, architectures and latest trends
  • Proficiency in English – both verbal and written
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong consulting, influencing & client-facing skills
  • Self-motivated and creative
  • energized by working collaboratively and with an innovation mindset
  • Lifelong learner, ready to constantly learn new technologies

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience using Cisco Nexus devices
  • Practical knowledge and experience of Cisco ACI
  • Solid understanding of other network technologies like security, service-provider, enterprise
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud providers
  • Knowledge of operating systems administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Canonical, Windows Server)
  • Knowledge of virtualization, containers
  • Experience in scripting languages
