Services is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing cutting-edge services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services. Within Southeast Europe, our Services Business Development team plays a pivotal role in expanding Mastercard’s footprint both within and beyond Financial Institutions, partnering with clients across multiple industries to drive growth and transformation. We are now looking for a Business Development Director to strengthen our presence primarily across Serbia, Bosnia, and Montenegro, with a view of extending to rest of Southeast Europe. Potential candidate should have a strong focus on new client acquisition within the non-FI space, as well as focusing on new buying centers within FIs. • Own the end‑to‑end sales cycle, from early prospecting and relationship building through to deal closure and handover to delivery teams
  • Partner closely with internal specialists and regional teams to ensure solutions are feasible, differentiated, and aligned with client priorities
  • Contribute to high‑quality project delivery where needed, identifying risks early and helping ensure strong client outcomes
  • Build market presence and credibility through client engagement, thought leadership, and collaboration across the Services organization

Requirements

  • Background in strategy or management consulting, or a proven track record in business development or commercial roles with strong client exposure across different industries such as retail, FMCG, oil & gas, e-commerce etc.
  • Hands‑on experience working with data and analytics in client projects, beyond pure project management responsibilities
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to shape solutions, assess value, and drive deals forward
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English and in Serbian both verbally and in writing
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with high levels of ownership, resilience, and drive in less mature or developing markets
