Job Description:

HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Consultant Specialist / Data Analyst. The role involves collaborating with the Product Owner, refining analytics stories, and ensuring high-quality analytics deliverables. The candidate will work in an Agile environment, utilizing tools like JIRA and Confluence, and will be responsible for translating business requirements into actionable specifications.

Job Responsibility:

Collaborate with the Product Owner to manage and prioritize analytics-related backlog items
Refine and groom analytics stories
Identify and raise RAAID items related to data quality, integration, and analytics deliverables
Update stakeholders on progress against milestones
Facilitate Agile ceremonies with a focus on analytics tasks
Work with cross-functional teams to resolve impediments
Monitor analytics deliverables to ensure high-quality outputs
Contribute to testing strategies
Ensure technical solutions for analytics are reviewed and approved
Produce JIRA-based reports on analytics tasks
Share analytics best practices
Support the adoption of scalable and efficient analytics tools and frameworks

Requirements:

Bachelor of engineering or equivalent
6-12 years of relevant experience
Strong markets knowledge across a range of products: FX, Equities, Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income, Futures, Swaps, Energy, Metals
Excellent Front to Back (full) Trade Lifecycle knowledge
Practical experience in functional analysis and design
Proficient in requirements elicitation, functional design, and problem-solving
Ability to translate business and data requirements into clear, actionable specifications
Expertise in Agile engineering practices
Hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence
Good knowledge of XML
Accountability for delivery
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to analyze, visualize, and interpret data

Nice to have:

Postgraduate degree in Finance / CFA / FRM
Experience in trade surveillance, regulatory reporting and market abuse
Disciplined Agile and SAFE framework experience
Experienced in working with resources in geographically dispersed teams
Front Office IT experience
Basic knowledge of Unix, SQL (or any database), Flat file based manual testing
