Job Description:

Join HSBC as a Consultant Specialist to provide support across software development, testing, and operational activities within the CTO Data Technology business. Responsible for delivering and maintaining technology solutions to meet customer needs, automating processes, and ensuring service stability and resilience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, carrying out software development, testing, and operational support activities
  • End to end accountability for a product or service
  • Liaise with other engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand and drive the product or service’s direction
  • Establish a digital environment and automate processes
  • Create technical test plans and records to ensure code quality
  • Provide support to DevOps teams at all stages of a product or service release/change
  • Ensure operational issues are addressed at all stages of release/change
  • Identify and resolve incidents associated with the IT service
  • Ensure service resilience, service sustainability, and recovery time objectives are met
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines and drive continuous improvement
  • Stay up to date and maintain expertise on tools, technologies, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is typically required
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in software development, with a focus on full stack development
  • Strong proficiency in BigData skill set is essential, including knowledge of programming languages such as Scala, Python
  • Familiarity with different frameworks and libraries (e.g., Spark)
  • Proficiency in database management and design, including SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
  • Knowledge of data modeling and query optimization
  • Understanding of DevOps principles, including experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, design scalable solutions, and implement them effectively
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working in a team environment
  • Thorough understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices
  • Knowledge of best practices for software development, code documentation, and testing
  • Strong desire for continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies and frameworks.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of cyber security and regulations related to data privacy, consent, data residency
