Job Description:

Join HSBC as a Consultant Specialist to work on technology solutions, drive transformation initiatives, and support digital product delivery in a hybrid working style located in Guangzhou, China. The role involves end-to-end accountability and collaboration across multiple disciplines in Technology delivery lifecycle, with focus on cloud platforms, full stack development, and financial services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work across the Technology delivery lifecycle including inception, construction, testing, release and ongoing management
  • Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle
  • End-to-end accountability for a product or service
  • Liaise with other engineers, architects and business stakeholders
  • Establish a digital environment and automate processes
  • Create technical test plans and records
  • Provide support to DevOps teams
  • Identify and address operational issues
  • Resolve incidents associated with the IT service
  • Ensure service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives
  • Automate the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline
  • Keep up-to-date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable entrepreneurial spirit
  • A change driver and fast leaner
  • A university graduate
  • Full stack software engineering capability including front-end, middleware, backend
  • Knowledge of 'Talk is cheap. Show me the code' --- Linus Torvalds (2000) Hands-on engineering capabilities in state-of-the-art technologies
  • Proven contribution to international academic and industrial communities and/or open source communities
  • Business knowledge in financial services industry
  • Capability of reading newest academic and research papers in the areas of banking, financial services and technologies
  • Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills
  • Excellent team player with ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skill in both verbal and written form
  • Capability of delivering effective presentation to teammates and external and internal stakeholders
  • Commitment to assigned task, attention to details and willing to dedicate efforts
  • Experience of working in a DevOps focused environment and working in an Agile Team
  • Flexible and adaptable in accommodating change of requirement and willing to take new responsibilities when necessary
  • Be able to work across multiple domains of knowledge and skills, and share knowledge across the team
  • Knowledge of architecture disciplines and the ability put the governance into practice.

  • Proven contribution to international academic and industrial communities and/or open source communities will be a huge advantage.
