Job Description:

Join HSBC and be part of a team dedicated to creating impactful technology solutions. The Consultant Specialist role involves full stack development, support for DevOps teams, utilizing BigData technologies, and ensuring service resilience.

Job Responsibility:

Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilising skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities
End-to-end accountability for a product or service, identifying and developing the most appropriate Technology solutions to meet customer needs as part of the Customer Journey
Liaise with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to understand and drive the product or service’s direction
Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high-quality code and data
Create technical test plans and records, including unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality
Provide support to DevOps teams working at all stages of a product or service release/change with a strong customer focus
Work with Ops, Dev, and Test Engineers to address operational issues at all stages of a product or service release/change
Support identification and resolution of all incidents associated with the IT service
Ensure service resilience, sustainability, and recovery time objectives for delivered software solutions
Automate the continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team
Drive a culture of continuous improvement
Stay updated and knowledgeable about current tools, technologies, cyber security, and regulations.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is typically required
5 years of relevant work experience in software development, with a focus on full stack development
Strong proficiency in BigData skill set, including knowledge of programming languages such as Scala, Python
Familiarity with frameworks and libraries like Spark
Proficiency in database management and design, including SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL
Knowledge of data modeling and query optimization
Understanding of DevOps principles, including experience with version control systems like Git, cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, and containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
Ability to analyze complex problems, design scalable solutions, and implement them effectively
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working in a team environment
Thorough understanding of software development principles, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices
Knowledge of best practices for software development, code documentation, and testing
Strong desire for continuous learning and adaptability to new technologies and frameworks.
