Job Description:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for experienced and motivated Consultant Radiologists to join a progressive imaging department in the South East region of England. We are looking for dynamic, forward-thinking individuals who share our vision to deliver the best care by the best people. The ideal candidates will demonstrate clinical excellence, leadership, and a collaborative approach to advancing radiology services across the region. This full-time post (10 PAs) offers the opportunity to contribute to a well-established team, with a balanced general radiology workload and options for developing sub-speciality interests.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide high-quality imaging and reporting across CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Plain Film modalities
  • Contribute to the general radiology on-call rota (following a probation and internal assessment period)
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the range and quality of radiology expertise available to clinical teams
  • Take an active role in multidisciplinary team meetings (MDMs) and clinical case discussions
  • Participate in service development, quality improvement, and audit initiatives to improve patient outcomes
  • Provide teaching and training for radiology trainees, medical students, and allied health professionals
  • Support and lead research and audit projects within the imaging department
  • Engage with patients and families to explain procedures and discuss results clearly and compassionately
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining the highest professional standards
  • Adhere to all governance, safety, and departmental protocols

Requirements:

  • Complete registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice
  • FRCR (or equivalent) qualification
  • CCT/CCST/CESR (or within 6 months of completion at the time of interview)
  • IELTS (Academic) Level 7.5 or equivalent (if applicable)
  • Broad experience in general radiology, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Plain Film
  • Sound understanding of clinical governance and quality assurance principles
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication, teaching, and leadership skills

Nice to have:

Sub-speciality interest in Upper GI or Haematology is desirable
