Job Responsibility

Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to adult people with mental health needs, across Northern Barking and Dagenham
Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team
Work directly with adults and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals
Participate in the on-call rota
Support your peers and team leader, and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative
Work alongside other Adult Consultant Psychiatrists, a Specialty Doctor, and trainees within the service
Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies

Participate, directly and indirectly, in the assessment of patients referred to the service and in drawing up care plans which will address the patients' psychiatric, physical, and social needs
Carry out detailed psychiatric assessments of patients as clinically indicated to allow accurate diagnoses and contribute to their treatment plans, including pharmacological management of psychotropic medication
Forge good working relationships with other psychiatrists across the Directorate
Provide consultation and advice to members of the MDT and primary care colleagues
