What you will be doing: Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Transformation, Data Visualisation, Data Sourcing. Key Accountabilities: Data expert style role supporting the wider Finance team to align business problems with data driven solutions; Knowledge of SQL and other data querying languages; Having a strong understanding of DAX queries in Power Bi; Actively engage in the Peer Review process in Power BI; Knowledge in Alteryx; Process and report automation to streamline creation and delivery of reporting inventory; Actively engage in internal knowledge sharing sessions; Identification and implementation of data quality capture routines; Lead project streams on system development and visualisation projects; Feed to the development pipeline with appropriate cost / benefit analysis; Visualisation champion with knowledge of both software and data architecture; Identify opportunities throughout 2025 where specific parts of projects can be delivered early; Continuously update and maintain JIRA tickets throughout 2025; Conduct an internal project retrospective on every project you deliver within 2 months of delivery.

Job Responsibility:

  • Data Architecture: Design and develop data models that accurately represent the structure and relationships of financial data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial data architecture into existing systems and processes
  • Data Integration: Integrate financial data from various sources, including ERP systems, databases, external APIs, and spreadsheets
  • Build a data estate that provides a platform for future financial analytics work
  • Evaluation and implementation of potential AI uses in data integration programmes
  • Data Transformation: Implement data transformation and cleansing processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to financial reporting standards
  • Create comprehensive documentation for data models
  • Optimize data models to enable efficient querying, reporting, and analytics
  • Adhere to and input to data quality standards and implement data validation checks
  • Data Visualisation: Automation of monthly data explorational reports and cross channel distribution of accurate and reliable financial report inventory
  • Ownership of data ingestion processes including QA, scheduling, veracity and interoperability of underlying platform sources
  • Responsible for the regular update and refresh of our visualisation reporting estate, predominantly on the Power BI platform but also in other visualisation tools as required
  • Data Sourcing: Work with Data Modelling and Business Analysis teams to provide scoping estimates for data sourcing and identify the steps required to delivery this
  • Build and utilise a close network with other functions such as Product & Tech to become an expert on the lineage of varying sources of Financial data
  • Create ingestion and extraction plans for data treatment as appropriate
  • Working in partnership across Finance to identify and operationalise potential reporting and data driven decision opportunities

Requirements:

  • Financial reporting / forecasting / budgeting
  • Deep and demonstrable knowledge of various technical skills such as Power BI, SQL, Power Automate, Alteryx, AWS (basic understanding)
  • Analysing how the data works and fetched through different data sources like RDS, Datasphere, EDW, Redshift
  • Demonstrable experience of designing, delivering and supporting a data visualisation estate, preferably with experience of supporting financial data sets
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Teamwork and building relationships, as well as solo work
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance mindset
  • Good technical skills with training delivery capabilities
  • Commercial and customer focus
