Requirements
MBBS or equivalent
MRCPCH / FRCA or equivalent higher qualification
Fully registered with the GMC
Completion of training in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine (minimum of two years) in a unit/rotation approved for training by the RCPCH national grid training programme with evidence that this has been signed off by the PICM ISAC including six months of anaesthetic training
Experience in paediatric intensive care and paediatric high dependency care
Experience in leading clinical teams to deliver high quality critical care in the in-patient setting
Ability to offer expert clinical opinions in complex clinical cases
Experience in assessing clinical situations and providing clinical advice on critical care remotely
Ability to prioritise and manage clinical workload
Basic experience in management, e.g., trainee rotas
Clear contribution to audit to effect change
Has interest in research and undertaken clinical projects
Ability to apply research and audit findings to clinical practice to improve patient outcomes
Teaching and training medical colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team
Commitment to continuing own professional development
