An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Consultant in Otolaryngology (ENT) to join a well-established and growing team on the East Coast of New Zealand. The Otolaryngology Department provides comprehensive ENT services to the broader East Coast region. The department includes a team of dedicated surgeons offering expertise across areas such as: General Otolaryngology; Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery; Otology and Lateral Skull Base Surgery; Cochlear Implantation; Paediatric Otolaryngology; Head and Neck Surgery. The department works closely with associated specialities, including Oncology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, and Paediatrics, ensuring a fully integrated approach to patient care. There are also opportunities for clinical research and service development, with support for those wishing to pursue leadership or academic roles within the service.
Job Responsibility:
Provide a wide range of acute and elective general ENT surgical services, with the opportunity to develop a subspecialty interest, particularly in Otology
Close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care
Contribute to teaching and supervision of registrars and undergraduate students
Requirements:
Vocational registration (or eligibility for registration) in Otolaryngology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
FRACS or an equivalent specialist qualification
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to teaching, quality improvement, and patient safety
