Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Consultant in Oncology to join a large and highly regarded Oncology service in the East of England. This fixed-term Consultant post is ideally suited to candidates with a specialist interest in: Lung cancers, Central Nervous System (CNS) cancers, Clinical Oncology services, Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT), Radiotherapy, including SABR techniques. The successful candidate will join a well-established multidisciplinary oncology team with strong research, teaching, and service development opportunities.

Job Responsibility

  • Participate in Lung and CNS MDTs
  • Deliver SACT and radiotherapy services
  • Support SABR and advanced oncology pathways
  • Manage approximately 300 new patients annually
  • Participate in the oncology on-call rota
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement
  • Support multidisciplinary cancer care pathways
  • Participate in appraisal, CPD, and professional development activities
  • Contribute to teaching and training activities

Requirements

  • Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT
  • CESR
  • European Community Rights
  • Appropriate higher oncology qualification
  • Minimum 1 year NHS experience
  • Experience equivalent to UK speciality training standards
  • Strong MDT working skills
  • Experience in oncology management and cancer pathways
