As a consultant dermatologist at DMC, you will work autonomously and be responsible for providing specialist dermatological medical services to our patient population. This involves delivering an excellent standard of clinical care in dermatology while adhering to the [GMS/PMS/APMS] contract. You will also comply with the GMC standards for good medical practice and contribute to the effective management of the practice, particularly in dermatological care, while maintaining a positive relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Job Responsibility:
Delivering high-quality medical care with an emphasis on dermatology to those entitled
Providing specialised dermatological services in accordance with the [GMS/PMS/APMS] agreement
Treating a range of skin conditions, including complex and chronic dermatological issues
Engaging in dermatology clinics and offering expert guidance to general practitioners
Managing dermatological administrative duties, such as referrals and skin-related medication management
Performing dermatological procedures and surgeries as necessary
Maintaining precise and comprehensive clinical records for dermatological treatments
Collaborating with the dermatology department and the broader general practice team
Keeping up to date with the latest developments in dermatology and implementing best practices
Leading dermatology quality improvement initiatives within the practice
Overseeing dermatological aspects of QOF
Participating in dermatology-related practice meetings
Contributing to the development and maintenance of dermatological services, including clinical governance and training
Ensuring compliance with dermatological standards in the appraisal process
Engaging in dermatology-specific revalidation
Committing to ongoing professional development in dermatology
Supporting the training of medical students and junior doctors in dermatological practices
Assisting the partners in enhancing dermatological services and practice income
Reviewing and adhering to dermatology-specific protocols and policies
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement in dermatological care
Participating in dermatology audits

Requirements:
Specialist Dermatology Qualification: Possession of a medical degree alongside a recognised specialist qualification in Dermatology, such as a Diploma in Dermatology
Dermatology Experience: Demonstrated experience in managing a broad spectrum of skin conditions, encompassing complex and chronic dermatological illnesses
Full GMC Registration and Inclusion on the National Performers List: Active registration with the General Medical Council and listing on the National Performers List
Clinical Dermatology Expertise: Proven capability in performing dermatological procedures and surgeries, along with expertise in dermatological pharmacotherapy
Outpatient Dermatology Experience: Extensive experience in dermatology outpatient settings, offering diagnostic and therapeutic services
Commitment to Evidence-Based Dermatology: Dedication to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in dermatology
Exceptional Clinical and Communication Skills: Outstanding dermatology-specific clinical skills and excellent communication abilities for effective patient care and teamwork with multidisciplinary teams
IT Proficiency in Dermatology: Skill in using clinical IT systems pertinent to dermatological practice
Leadership and Teamwork Capabilities: Demonstrated leadership in clinical contexts and effectiveness in multidisciplinary team collaboration
