Airswift is seeking for a Construction Supervisor (Mechanical) to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company.
Job Responsibility
Liaise with the HSE Supervisor on safety-related matters and act as a safety leader on site
Report to the Discipline Construction Lead/Senior Construction Supervisor on key issues, site events, progress, trends, and improvement recommendations
Assist the functional supervisor in reviewing and/or approving construction documentation, including Method Statements, JHAs, MARs, and participate in HSE walkthroughs
Supervise all EPIC contractor static & rotating equipment inspection and installation activities in line with approved engineering documentation and project schedules
Attend Requests for Inspection (RFIs) as per approved ITPs, including material receiving inspections, in coordination with the Lead Construction Supervisor, and sign off relevant reports
Ensure quality of manufacturing and erection works, including dimensional accuracy, correct orientation, and compliance with material design specifications
Lead contractors on all mechanical aspects related to static and rotating equipment installation works
Supervise EPIC contractors during execution of static (including internals) and rotating equipment installation, FAT, alignment inspection, punch clearing, pressure testing, pre-commissioning, and reinstatement activities
Manage and lead final mechanical completion inspections and punch closure activities
Supervise pre-commissioning activities to ensure safety and quality standards are achieved
Lead site inspection activities with vendors/suppliers as required
participate in PSSR and support operations during pre-startup and startup phases when instructed
Coordinate contractor mobilization at site
Perform daily checks on contractor personnel and previous day work to ensure compliance with contractual specifications
Apply strong knowledge in reading and interpreting P&ID, GA, structural drawings, equipment layouts, mechanical drawings, and manufacturer manuals/recommendations
Maintain a daily progress log (site diary), highlighting key observations
report anomalies or contractual deviations to the Senior Supervisor and recommend corrective actions
Sign work permits and ensure contractor compliance with permit requirements
Participate in the development of as-built drawings and documentation
Supervise ongoing contractor work, inspect activities, report issues, and prevent incidents by enforcing safety standards
Liaise and coordinate with QA/QC Inspectors on all quality-related matters
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognized University
Preferably formal training in QA/QC functional aspects
Minimum 10 years overall experience in static and rotating equipment installation, including inspection coordination experience in construction of midstream/downstream Oil & Gas facilities
Experience as an EPIC Contractor supervisor essential
Experience as a Client or PMC supervisor preferred
Current experience in State of Qatar industrial cities and/or other GCC countries required
Extensive knowledge of international and industry specific codes & standards including ASME, ANSI, ISO, API, NFPA, SHELL DEP's etc.
Mechanical inspector certificates (API 510 & API 653) would be an advantage
Extensive experience in coating systems and procedures including painting, galvanizing, wrapping, insulation, Refractory Lining etc.
BGAS / API certification would be an advantage
Extensive experience in Static and Rotating Equipment Installation, FAT, Alignment, Inspection, punch list clearing, pressure testing, pre-commissioning and mechanical completion inspections
Excellent written and oral English skills
Able to read Equipment layout and mechanical drawings, P&ID's and manufacturer's instructions
Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills
Specific experience in Greenfield/new build construction sites
Brownfield/live process plants
Permits to work including Isolation & Lock Out/Tag Out of live services
Tie-in to live facilities including testing and integration to existing systems
Stage Inspection and Testing of Construction activities as per approved ITPs
Extensive knowledge in Lifting Plan and Crane Studies
Strong technical, prioritization and management skills
Good communication, influencing and interface skills
Proficient knowledge of computer programs (MSOffice, Outlook, Excel, Words, PDF, Power Point, etc.) and engineering software applications relevant to the discipline
Nice to have
Formal training in QA/QC functional aspects
Experience as a Client or PMC supervisor
Mechanical inspector certificates (API 510 & API 653)
