Nviro is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee the field execution of water and wastewater system projects, from treatment plant construction to sewer infrastructure and modular system installations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of civil and mechanical systems, strong field management skills, and a passion for building systems that last.
Job Responsibility:
Lead day-to-day construction and maintenance activities on water and wastewater system projects, providing daily reports
Develop and manage site schedules and logistics in coordination with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors
Ensure all work aligns with design specifications, contract documents, and regulatory requirements
Supervise and support field crews and subcontractors, assigning tasks and monitoring progress
Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards through daily oversight and routine inspections
Be the corporate safety officer, holding meetings and trainings focused on accountability, communication, and safety on every job site
Monitor construction quality and ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and permit requirements
Identify and resolve field issues quickly to keep projects on schedule and within budget
Track project costs and assist in approving labor, materials, and equipment expenditures
Identify opportunities to optimize resources while maintaining workmanship and compliance
Serve as the primary point of contact for field-related updates, coordinating with engineers, project managers, and clients
Participate in progress meetings and report on field status, issues, and solutions
Travel to job sites throughout California, and beyond, as required. Some overnight stays may be necessary depending on project location and scope
Requirements:
8+ years of experience in water/wastewater system construction or utility infrastructure
Strong working knowledge of treatment systems, pipeline installation, and civil sitework
Maintain T1 and D1 certifications to support field oversight of potable water system work, including disinfection, flushing, startup coordination, and compliance with state and local regulations
Proven experience managing crews, schedules, and subcontractors in the field
Understanding of OSHA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and permits
Strong communication and leadership skills
Valid driver’s license
ability to travel to remote sites as needed
Certifications in safety, such as OSHA 30, CPR, First Aid, etc.
Willingness to travel to jobsites, including overnight stays for extended durations as required by project schedules
