We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Construction Superintendent (Civil) on residential status to be based at site (Ras Laffan Industrial City). This is a contract role with initial duration of 36 months working on a residential basis with 6-days per week / 10 hours per day.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide front line safety and technical leadership
  • Ensuring and assuring safe effective and efficient execution of Civil & Structural activities in accordance with the project schedule and compliance to safety, quality and technical policies procedures and standards
  • Reports to Head of Construction – Offsites Delivery Team
  • Provide visible safety leadership ensuring a culture of care for people and safety-first approach is established
  • Ensure timely review and comment of related civil and structural technical and project nontechnical documents submitted by Contractor
  • Ensures all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company and contractually defined policies, regulations, and standards
  • Apply contractual acumen engaging with Contractors on schedule, technical and cost issues
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships and open communications with contractor and company functional teams
  • Attend activity planning and risk assessment meetings, assist contractor in identifying schedule mitigations and improvement
  • Ensure safety processes and standards are maintained by assuring Contractor completes daily and weekly walk-through of construction areas
  • Attend onsite workface planning and safety meetings and toolbox talks
  • Assure project schedule compliance by working collaboratively with Contractor identifying construction constraints and mitigation actions
  • Review of contractors daily weekly and monthly reports analysing performance and verifying progress and status

Requirements

  • Diploma and discipline/trade specific vocational certification
  • 10 years' experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role
  • Must have Structural Steel experience
  • IT literacy: Word, Excel, PDF
  • Demonstrates sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and translate approved for construction drawings
  • Ability to use (Read) Navis works (3D model)
  • Ability to prepare, approve and /or verify Instrument installation plans
  • Ability to work within document control systems
  • Ability to read and translate primavera schedules
  • Ability to work within advanced work packing systems
  • Demonstrate extensive experience of civil and structural construction methods preferably in a major LNG Project
  • Ability to translate civil and structural design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria specific to onshore LNG facilities
  • Experience and familiarity with relevant civil and structural construction processes and relevant industry standards
