We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Construction Superintendent (Civil) on residential status to be based at site (Ras Laffan Industrial City). This is a contract role with initial duration of 36 months working on a residential basis with 6-days per week / 10 hours per day.
Job Responsibility
Provide front line safety and technical leadership
Ensuring and assuring safe effective and efficient execution of Civil & Structural activities in accordance with the project schedule and compliance to safety, quality and technical policies procedures and standards
Reports to Head of Construction – Offsites Delivery Team
Provide visible safety leadership ensuring a culture of care for people and safety-first approach is established
Ensure timely review and comment of related civil and structural technical and project nontechnical documents submitted by Contractor
Ensures all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company and contractually defined policies, regulations, and standards
Apply contractual acumen engaging with Contractors on schedule, technical and cost issues
Establish and maintain effective relationships and open communications with contractor and company functional teams
Attend activity planning and risk assessment meetings, assist contractor in identifying schedule mitigations and improvement
Ensure safety processes and standards are maintained by assuring Contractor completes daily and weekly walk-through of construction areas
Attend onsite workface planning and safety meetings and toolbox talks
Assure project schedule compliance by working collaboratively with Contractor identifying construction constraints and mitigation actions
Review of contractors daily weekly and monthly reports analysing performance and verifying progress and status
Requirements
Diploma and discipline/trade specific vocational certification
10 years' experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role
Must have Structural Steel experience
IT literacy: Word, Excel, PDF
Demonstrates sound written and verbal communication skills
Ability to read and translate approved for construction drawings
Ability to use (Read) Navis works (3D model)
Ability to prepare, approve and /or verify Instrument installation plans
Ability to work within document control systems
Ability to read and translate primavera schedules
Ability to work within advanced work packing systems
Demonstrate extensive experience of civil and structural construction methods preferably in a major LNG Project
Ability to translate civil and structural design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria specific to onshore LNG facilities
Experience and familiarity with relevant civil and structural construction processes and relevant industry standards
