Job Responsibility

  • Deliver high-quality legal advice on construction matters, including contracts, disputes, and regulations
  • Draft and review construction contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Provide legal support for contentious and non-contentious construction cases
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal solutions
  • Support senior team members with complex legal cases and negotiations
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in construction law and regulations
  • Contribute to the development of the legal department's expertise and resources.

Requirements

  • Qualified as a solicitor in Scotland or England & Wales, with at least 4 PQE
  • Provide legal advice on the full spectrum of non-contentious construction matters, encompassing procurement strategy, tender processes, and the preparation and negotiation of construction documentation
  • Strong familiarity with widely used standard-form construction contracts, alongside practical experience of collaborative contract models commonly adopted in UK public sector projects, as well as internationally recognised contract frameworks used on cross-border developments
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
