Job Description

We are looking for an HR Recruiter to support hiring efforts for a construction-focused organization in Lansing, Michigan. This Contract position will manage recruitment activities from talent identification through offer coordination, helping teams secure candidates with relevant experience efficiently. The role is ideal for someone who can balance sourcing, screening, and stakeholder communication while maintaining a well-organized hiring process. On-site 8AM-5PM.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead recruitment activities across the full hiring lifecycle, from opening intake discussions to candidate selection
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines by proactively identifying candidates with relevant experience through sourcing channels, networking, and targeted outreach
  • Conduct candidate interviews to evaluate experience, qualifications, and fit for corporate and operational roles
  • Partner with hiring managers to clarify staffing needs, define candidate profiles, and align recruiting strategies with business priorities
  • Track applicant progress and maintain accurate hiring records within the applicant tracking system (Workday)
  • Coordinate interview scheduling, candidate communications, and follow-up activities to create a smooth and organized hiring experience
  • Support recruiting efforts for roles connected to the construction industry, with attention to market availability and position requirements

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience managing full cycle recruiting in a corporate or agency environment
  • Background recruiting for construction or engineering roles
  • Demonstrated ability to source talent and develop candidate pipelines for a variety of positions
  • Strong interviewing skills with the ability to assess qualifications and overall role alignment
  • Hands-on experience using an applicant tracking system to manage workflows and candidate data
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills for working with candidates and hiring teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple openings at the same time with a sense of urgency
