CO+I is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. Within CO+I, Datacenter Construction Delivery (DCD) is responsible for delivering datacenter capacity for Microsoft’s cloud business meeting all safety, quality, sustainability, schedule, and budget requirements. The Construction Metro Director provides critical leadership, ownership and accountability for the team's deployment and delivery of large-scale, campus and/or regionally based delivery solutions to predictably deliver Datacenter capacity. This role leads the delivery of highly complex, high-impact projects by driving strategic planning, resource alignment, and risk management to ensure predictable outcomes. It builds trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, acts as the voice of the customer, and oversees contracting, financial governance, and project closure. The position also contributes globally by sharing best practices and fostering industry impact. We are hiring multiple candidates for this role across the following metro areas: Charlotte, North Carolina; Columbus, Ohio; South Bend, Indiana; Relocation assistance will be provided. Candidates selected for this role are expected to relocate and live within 50 miles of the designated work location.

  • Project & Financial Management: Owns end‑to‑end project scope, schedule, and budget while implementing strong project controls (PERs, PSRs, change orders, pay apps) to ensure cost, quality, and delivery discipline
  • Strategic Delivery & Results: Drives execution of complex, large‑scale construction initiatives by influencing internal and external partners to meet milestones and uphold core priorities (Safety, Security, Quality, Schedule, Cost)
  • Cross‑Functional & Vendor Coordination: Leads coordination across vendors, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders, integrating lessons learned and maintaining a security‑first mindset throughout planning and delivery
  • Risk, Safety & Compliance Leadership: Establishes risk mitigation strategies, metrics, and dashboards
