Job Description:

Construction Manager/Estimator needed to lead a passionate construction team for a highly reputable plumbing company based in Southern Tasmania. This position is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of mid to large construction projects. We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager/Estimator that is capable of managing both the strategic commercial planning.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execute pre-tender site meetings, prepare and finalise tenders, and negotiate contracts, ensuring all project objectives are clearly defined.
  • Direct and manage project development from inception to conclusion. This includes planning timelines and milestones, reviewing costs against tender pricing, and proactively seeking cost-saving opportunities.
  • Supervise and mentor the site foreman, leading hands, plumbers, and apprentices within the construction team.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and external stakeholders, building and growing relationships vital to project success.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Certificate III in Plumbing
  • Have a minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role
  • Have strong knowledge of Sanitary Plumbing, wastewater disposal in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, and relevant building codes and legislation.
  • Have demonstrated problem solving, and decisive decision making skills.
  • Have effective verbal, presentation, listening, negotiation, and mediation skills
