The Construction Liaison / Capital Projects Project Manager acts as the primary connection between the construction partners and the Los Angeles Convention Center’s internal Operations and management teams. This role is responsible for interpreting construction plans, sequencing, and schedules; evaluating feasibility with internal stakeholders; and provides clear, timely updates on project impacts. The role also oversees capital project documentation, supports procurement activities, and ensures compliance with all required standards. It centralizes the technical, coordination, and administrative workload associated with construction and improvement projects so Operations can stay focused on core responsibilities.
Job Responsibility:
Attend construction walks, coordination meetings, and drawing reviews to understand plans, phasing, and schedule changes. Monitor jobsite execution to ensure commitments match field conditions
Break down technical information into clear, practical explanations for LACC Sr. Leadership, Operations, and other stakeholders. Confirm feasibility before commitments are sent back to the construction partner (GC). Identify conflicts based on event calendars, operational needs, and venue constraints
Centralize construction-related information flow, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness. Provide proactive updates, alerts, and impact assessments to Operations, Events, Security, and leadership
Lead Capital Improvement Projects. Maintain project documents, drawings, phasing diagrams, asset records, timelines, and as-builts. Assist with procurement logic, vendor evaluations, and RFP processes. Track budgets, schedules, and reporting requirements
Serves as the primary day to day contact for projects, coordinates capital and asset improvement related activates e.g., repairs, supplies, assets, renovations, inspections, contractors, and contractor meetings, permitting activities, projects close-out, calendars, and mandated reports, for the purpose of ensuring that all phases of projects are completed within specifications and with minimal interruption to in-house events
Regularly walk the facility to validate construction progress, capital improvement projects, identify risks, and ensure operational safety and compliance
Complete special projects & other assigned duties
Requirements:
Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English in a working environment
Understanding of construction industry processes and procedures with firsthand experience in procurement, logistics or project management

Must be able to draft, manage, distribute, respond to, or analyze RFIs, RFPs, RFQs or supplier terms & conditions as needed
Must have reliable transportation
Required variable work schedules such as late hours, early mornings, extended hours, holidays, and weekends
A minimum education of a High School Diploma or equivalent with certificates in related fields: in business administration or construction engineering
Minimum of 4-6 years of progressively responsible professional experience in the field of managing the design and construction of capital improvement projects
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in related fields: in business administration or construction engineering
Industry certifications: Contractor License is preferred
Previous management experience in a convention center highly preferred
Experience in similar construction project, a plus
Knowledge of Momentus and Microsoft Office or similar software
