They have a loyal client base which permeates across the firm and have a very reasonable work/life balance. With a strong Real Estate group, they are now seeking to grow their established Construction team with the hire of an additional Associate.

Job Responsibility

  • Focus on non-contentious construction matters
  • Get excellent client contact, working for institutions, corporates, developers and UHNWs
  • Work across a variety of sectors including retail and leisure
  • Involve all manner of construction work, including related contracts and involvement in facility agreements and public procurement

Requirements

  • Construction lawyer in a highly-rated City or West End firm
  • Between three and five years’ PQE (Post-Qualification Experience)
  • Experience in non-contentious construction matters
  • Experience in contentious matters is valued

  • Provide expert legal advice on construction contracts including JCT, NEC and development agreements
  • Manage construction disputes, defects claims, contractor litigation and contractual issues
  • Support Hyde’s programme of building safety remediation, ensuring contractors meet their obligations
  • Advise on compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021 and Fire Safety Order 2005
  • Support engagement with the Building Safety Regulator and related safety case requirements
  • Work closely with development, asset management and procurement teams to manage legal risk across projects
  • Oversee external legal advisers and work with the Legal Operations Manager to manage legal spend
  • Provide clear, practical legal advice to senior leadership and operational teams
