As an Interiors and Finishes Resident Engineer, you will oversee and manage interior construction scopes on-site, ensuring that design intent, quality standards, and project specifications are executed successfully. You will serve as the primary field representative for interiors and finishes, coordinating between contractors, designers, consultants, and ownership to deliver high-quality interior environments.
Job Responsibility
Oversee all interior and architectural finishes work, including but not limited to drywall, ceilings, flooring, millwork, painting, wall coverings, specialties, and FF&E installation
Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and design intent
Review construction progress and verify work aligns with approved shop drawings and material submittals
Conduct regular field inspections and develop punch lists to ensure work meets project standards
Act as the primary point of contact for all interior-related field issues
Coordinate closely with architects, interior designers, MEP teams, and other disciplines to resolve conflicts
Facilitate field meetings, including coordination meetings and finish-specific walkthroughs
Track progress of interiors and finishes work relative to the project schedule
Identify risks or delays and proactively implement mitigation strategies
Assist in developing phasing plans for complex interior installations
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Minimum ten years of building construction management experience
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
